LOW-TEMP.
FUSIBLE ALLOYS
Fusible Alloys melt at temperatures from 117 – 338F.
Certain Fusible Alloys have little or no volume change
upon solidification, making them valuable for proofing
die cavities or making foundry mold patterns. Other
alloys expand during solidification, giving good gripping
action for anchoring metal fixtures for machining, plastic
and glass lenses for surfacing or thin-walled tube bending.
Low-temp. alloys are also used for casting fuse links
in fire sprinklers and safety plugs as well as radiation
oncology shielding blocks. Fusible Alloys come in 2.5
- 5 lb ingots.
